The Opportunity

Promote, support, and celebrate student-athlete success — on and off the field.

TAF prides itself on helping student-athletes, but the community didn’t fully understand or appreciate everything they do. The organization needed a set of integrated creative and media campaigns that would clarify its role in the success of the students who bring everyone together through their achievements — both on and off the field. This would increase TAF membership and annual donations to support their ability to support LSU Athletics.

THE INSIGHT

The geaux never stops

When the Tigers are doing well in sports, it seeps into our day-to-day and has us roaring through our social lives — it’s as if we had scored the winning points ourselves! The feeling is impossible to contain, and we can’t help but shout it from the bleachers. We needed to utilize creative and media tactics that were every bit as shareable as the joy of victory. And victory is even sweeter when you help to make it happen.

How we made it SIXY

Scoring a live audience of 100,000 screaming fans

At the launch of the “Here For Tigers” campaign, we created a shareable and compelling video for Tiger Stadium’s jumbotrons that highlights all the ways LSU student-athletes succeed — whether on the field, in the classroom, or in life — and invites viewers to “be more than a fan” by joining the TAF.

The video, which features the iconic voice of Dan Borné, was supported with additional video, print, OOH, and social media ad placements.

We created a new campaign to help audiences understand the connection between their donations and the success of LSU student-athletes both on and off the field. Equipped with a modular messaging system that spans the student success experience, TAF could encourage fans to stay focused on the mission, allowing donors to share in all our collective victories.

Building on momentum from previous campaigns, we launched a relatable and shareable social campaign to coincide with the beginning of the 2019 LSU football season. The campaign borrows idioms from Tiger Country’s local lexicon, and we’ve enjoyed great success with this approach to creating viral content that directs viewers to a fun and informational TAF fanpage we created for this campaign.

Driving new memberships and donations.

Through the success of our award-winning integrated creative and media campaigns, the TAF saw significant increases in membership, donations, and brand awareness through social media engagement.
