A full-service partnership with S+N’s Advanced Wound Management division for 10 years — and still going.
Smith+Nephew is a multi-billion dollar global healthcare company with dozens of product brands. And for more than 10 years, Red Six Media has been the primary agency partner for their entire Advanced Wound Management (AWM) division in the U.S.
AWM offers a robust portfolio and maintains rigorous brand standards — with every brand deserving of its own spotlight. Add to that the diligent attention to regulatory compliance, the overwhelming variety of stakeholders, and the complexity of the subject matter more generally and… You could say we keep in touch.
We couldn’t be a good partner to Smith+Nephew by giving only half of our attention. We’ve found that our teams work best together when we’re fully enmeshed — so we’ve established a unique Project Team just for them that serves as the nexus of regular communication and active collaboration.
After years of great work together, Red Six Media is regarded as a happy extension of AWM’s internal marketing and communications team.
Our experience has given us near-expert insight that guides us through every project. We understand the needs of patients, nurses, doctors, and administrators and which strategies and tactics we should use to reach them. We’ve learned key clinical concepts that help us tell compelling stories. We know the history of each and every AWM brand — and where we can take them in the future.
Smith+Nephew asked us to develop a creative and integrated media campaign for their ALLEVYN◊ LIFE Foam Dressings, which last twice as long as standard of care. Our research revealed that of all the product’s benefits, nurses responded most to the value of time saved. Referencing the ALLEVYN◊ Dressing’s unique, quadrilobed shape, we reimagined the product as a clock and made a simple suggestion: “Tired of changing dressings? Maybe it’s time to change dressings…”
Smith+Nephew challenged us to create a digital media campaign promoting the PICO◊ sNPWT system to Orthopedic Surgeons and OB/GYNs. The device is portable, allowing doctors to discharge their patients earlier so they can continue their recovery at home. Leaving the hospital isn’t the end of the patient journey, but it’s a major milestone for doctors and patients alike. Our campaign defines clinical and human milestones along the patient journey and shows that the PICO◊ System “gets them there sooner.”
We love tapping into our talented vendor network whenever the project calls for their special skills. In this case, we partnered with Matt Callac of Elbow Room Productions to bring our vision to life. He even lent his own moped to the shoot!
By walking our cast on treadmills, we were able to put the patient journey into motion, with green screen effects showing the various destinations the PICO System can take them.

We’re proud of our achievements with Smith+Nephew. Their Brand Managers have more and better internal resources at their disposal, their systems are easier to navigate, and their sales are experiencing the benefits of our integrated creative and media campaigns.
We’ve had the pleasure of providing our full Six Pack of services to Smith+Nephew, and we look forward to continuing our partnership for another 10 years.
“Red Six Media’s work on multiple decks and standalone pieces has far exceeded my expectations on every occasion. It’s why I continue to come to them with difficult problems to solve. The creativity the team puts out is unmatched by every other organization we work with. Finally — and I mean this seriously — of all the vendors we work with, I would most like to work for Red Six Media if I didn’t work here!”
