Step inside of Bains Elementary School in St. Francisville and you’ll immediately feel the excitement of a learning environment that’s as dynamic as it is inspiring. At Red Six Media, we are proud to have played a part in creating that feeling.
Bains Elementary’s leadership, along with their architect (and R6 client) Coleman Partners – came to us with the unique challenge of designing a multi-wall installation that celebrates the school’s mission and enacts its purpose statement — “Student Success: Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow!”
Learning as a Gateway to Adventure
Inspired by the school’s mission — to empower students to become leaders in their learning, setting them up for success in school and beyond — we worked to create an immersive, 3,500-square-foot space that turns the everyday journey of education into an exciting adventure.
Through our discovery process , we learned that developments in transportation — by road, water, rail, air, and even space! — are deeply rooted in the area. The design themes we created connect that local history with the broader idea of learning as a pathway to endless possibilities. Through vibrant murals depicting various modes of transportation, students are reminded that education has been the key to exploring and conquering new frontiers throughout history.
But these murals are more than just eye-catching artwork. Hidden within the designs are puzzles and challenges that encourage students to interact with the installations. A timeline tracing significant advances in transportation runs down one hallway, offering a visual narrative that ties the history of innovation to the local story of West Feliciana Parish. This blend of beauty and interactivity inspires curiosity and discovery every day.

Collaboration and Recognition
This project wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible partnership of Coleman Partners. Together, we worked to create a space that both engages and inspires — and the results have not gone unnoticed. At the 2023 AAF-Baton Rouge (American Advertising Federation) awards, our environmental design for Bains Elementary received multiple Local and District honors:
- Silver ADDY (District): Out-of-Home Installations
- Best of Show (BR): Out-of-Home Installations
- Gold ADDY (BR): Out-of-Home Installations
- Gold ADDY (BR): Art Direction
A Bright Future in West Feliciana
As students walk through the halls of Bains Elementary, they are greeted each day with an inspiring reminder: learning is the gateway to adventure. This project not only transformed the school’s physical space but also created an environment where education feels alive and full of possibility.
This opportunity allowed us to both bring the school’s vision to life and grow creatively as an agency. In the end, we’re proud to have produced a space that reflects the aspirations of the student body. Here’s to a bright future for the students of West Feliciana Parish!
