Sixteen years ago today, Red Six Media (R6) was born — somewhat accidentally. One month after graduating from LSU’s Manship School of Mass Communication, we thought starting our own advertising agency would provide us with invaluable experience and would look good on our résumés so we could get “real jobs.”

But, what began as a scrappy hustle in the summer of 2009 has grown into a full-service advertising agency trusted by brands across the Gulf South and beyond. Today, R6 turns 16 — and we’ve launched a new website to mark the occasion.

Our services have evolved. Our clients have grown. The marketing world has changed dramatically. But one thing has remained constant: Our passion for telling memorable stories and helping our clients succeed.

At R6, we’ve always said we make advertising “SIXY” — and now we’re finally ready to embrace it more boldly than ever.

So what does it mean to be “SIXY”?

SIXY is a word that has lived on dry erase boards, in brainstorms, and in late-night G-Chats. It’s how we describe the work that makes us proud, the people who do it best, and the vibe we aim to create with every client interaction.

In other words, SIXY is strategic, imaginative work that exceeds expectations. It’s the flutter of excitement after a great first meeting… The anticipation of seeing a bold idea come to life… The sense that, maybe — just maybe — you’ve found your creative match.

We want our clients to feel SIXY. We want our meetings to be the best part of their week. We want them walking back to their team with a spark in their eye and a story to tell.

We believe every brand needs a little love because emotional connection is what drives lasting relationships. We develop bonds, share experiences with our clients, and use that knowledge to build trust, spark creativity, and stir up results.
